In 1998, two brothers, President Rick Byrne and Vice President/Chief Operating Officer John Byrne, along with boyhood friend and trucking veteran Brad Vestal, began providing transportation brokerage services.

From the start, the veteran-owned company provided trucking services that included less-than-truck load and dry freight.  As the company gained respect for well-organized, well-documented management of shipping assignments, Byrne Transportation Services, LLC began to acquire a reputation for a special class of service, the movement of large, odd-sized material the company calls "Big and Ugly."

Byrne Transportation Services, LLC became a provider to the Department of Defense.

The company is General Services Administration (GSA) - approved, Veterans Administration (VA) - approved; and Global Transportation Network (GTN) -qualified under the Surface Distribution and Deployment Center (SDDC) program.  Veteran-owned, the company meets SBA requirements as a small business and can provide services in accord with the small business set-aside provisions of government contracts.
